Celebrating the Wins!

Can I introduce a self-care rule?

I mean we are healing together aren't we? So we might as well hold each other accountable. However, this isn't your average joy holding type of rule, in fact, it is more of a guideline to make sure that we are looking at reality in a healthy and true realistic way.

So often we highlight and make memorials of our downfalls, mistakes and sins. We make a mental monument of moments that have wounded us and left us feeling as if we would never get back up again. Truth is, it's easy to "Worship" the negative while the positive sits on the shelf collecting unnecessary dust.

I often ponder why is this the normal case? Why do we have to train ourselves to celebrate our wins, when it is all too easy to set our faults on a high petal stool? I've come to the conclusion that it is as Paul says in the Bible, Romans 7:21, which reads, "So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me." Meaning that good and evil are always in competition with each other. We see this in Marvel and DC Movies, and the same is true with our minds.

We can accomplish so much and yet hyper study the negatives in each scenario. We can cross a milestone and still fixate our thoughts on the slightest error. Our soul is constantly at war to manage the "Fleshly" default behaviors and patterns. This is why the Bible expresses the beauty of being made a "New Creature" in 2 Corinthians 5:17. And although we are made new, that doesn't negate the fact that we must learn a new way, a better way to live healthy, effective and fulfilling lives.

And so, I bring to you this rule... "Celebrate the Wins!"

And I mean celebrate each of them, from the largest to the smallest detail. Make a HUGE deal about your victories. Scream it from the top of Mount Depression and sing it in the face of Doom. Your wins do matter and they don't always have to be analyzed so deeply to where you can't embrace the good. WE must learn to love each win we get because with it, we gain another tool... a weapon that can be used for future battles to come.

Instead of focusing on what could have happened, focus on what did and or is happening! You overcame, you persevered, you created the product, you put it out, 1 person watched your YouTube channel, 10 people showed up to your event, someone read your book, someone else subscribed to your podcast, you were consistent for 3 days, you managed your fears, you didn't let anxiety win, whatever the win, whatever the size, put it on the way of your memory bank!

You deserve to celebrate your wins!

And if I can; I'm celebrating that there are 500+ downloads of my "Let's Be Honest" Podcast, I'm celebrating that the Podcast has 100+ cities and territories that it is has reached! I'm celebrating that I get to create communities and spaces for people to grow, relate and change; whether through the I AM Healing: Interactive Journal, through my music, or on my podcast!

The secret is to edge the memories of wins in your mind, so deep that the devil can't rob you of the joy those memories hold. Be vigilant about protecting the wins that you've earned;

they are your badge of honor, they are your gentle reminders that God is with you and that Goodness and Mercy is following you for all the days of your life!

Yours Truly,
